Welcome To Gerania Wines

Our Company

Viticultural Cooperative Of Megara - Gerania Wines was founded in 1908 and is the first cooperative established in Greece. In 1922, the first Cooperative Winery in Pachi Megara was founded, where all local production was received, processed and distributed. Very quickly the wines of Megara became famous not only in Greece but also abroad. From Pachi port were loading with barrels of high quality wine for European markets mainly to France, England and Germany.

The vineyard of Megara extends from the foothills of Mount Gerania and rises at an altitude of 350 meters. The microclimate and the geographical area of the vineyards contribute to the quality and character of local wines. In the 1960s, with the emergence of phylloxera in the vineyards, extensive replanting took place. The main varieties in our region are the famous Roditis Megaron and Savatiano from white and Mavroudi from the red.

Today, our winery is equipped with the most up-to-date machinery and staffed by specialized staff, combining tradition with modern technology, we continue to deliver high quality products which have participated in International Wine Competitions, receiving significant accolades.
